Ora ïto signs the new flagship store for Lancaster

La marque de maroquinerie Lancaster s’installe dans le quartier de la Madeleine et des grands du luxe. Ce tout premier flagship symbolise le tournant capital pour la marque qui assoie ainsi sa notoriété. Pour ce faire, Lancaster a fait appel au designer Ora Ito qui a totalement révolutionné les codes du retail pour créer un écrin entièrement habillé de noir.

Eva Chairs presented in Milan

Three new versions of the Eva armchair, designed by the French designer Ora Ïto. The brand new “Eva 2013” still has the same sling but features a removable cover, in fabric or leather, coupled with a soft padding in Dacron Du Pont and matching either the legs in natural, wengé-stained or walnut-dyed oak or a swivel steel base, painted in the shades black or white.

The Guardian — Le Corbusier’s Cité Radieuse rooftop gym transformed into art space

French designer Ora-Ïto is converting the famous Marseille roof terrace into a haven for contemporary art. "Welcome to my place," says Ito Morabito, perched on the balustrade of the most famous rooftop of any 20th-century building. Behind the young French designer, concrete forms gleam in the midday Marseille sun: a great ventilation stack flares out like a sculptural vase; a paddling pool nestles beneath a classroom on stilts; children clamber on a mock-mountain of rugged rocks.

French designer Ito Morabito, who works under the brand name Ora-ïto, is known for his graceful, elegant, and ergonomic objects — silverware, beer bottles (for Heineken), kitchenware, timepieces (Swatch), paper cutters, bags (Louis Vuitton), and furniture. His many award-winning designs are wonderful to hold and skin-like to sit in, exhibiting his natural way with materials and forms. A move to architecture was a natural evolution for him.
