Ora Ito expose aux Arts Decoratifs

Arts De­c­o­rat­ifs, Fe­bruary 2010 — Housed in the mag­ni­f­i­cent Musée des Arts Dé­co, Ora-Ito pre­sents his col­lab­o­ra­tion with Stein­er of a com­plete range of liv­ing room fur­ni­ture that re­defines the roots whilst conserv­ing the DNA of one of the old­est French high-end fur­ni­ture brands: com­fort and cre­a­tiv­i­ty. The col­lec­tion re­veals an ex­treme but studied sim­plic­i­ty and au­dac­i­ty in a sober, uni­ver­sal and time­less graph­ic de­sign of which the key­s­tone is the Ora-Ga­mi chair.

Thanks to its strong val­ues of com­fort and cre­a­tiv­i­ty and over 80 years of his­toric col­lab­o­ra­tions and ex­clu­sive de­signs, Stein­er is the in­con­tro­vert­i­ble lead­er of French de­sign. Af­ter work­ing with nu­mer­ous de­sign lu­mi­naries, the renowned avant-garde House com­mis­sioned the icon­o­clas­tic de­sign­er Ora-Ito to sign their 21 cen­tu­ry col­lec­tion. Ora-Ito came up with “O­ra-Ga­mi”, a com­pre­hen­sive range of ex­clu­sive lounge fur­ni­ture of ev­ery type: armchairs, ot­to­mans, so­fas, side­boards, cof­fee ta­bles, mo­d­u­lar pie­ces… Keen to of­fer a glob­al en­vi­ron­ment to­tal­ly in­te­grat­ed to to­day’s in­te­ri­ors, he re­defines cur­rent and fu­ture trends in lounge fur­ni­ture with a rad­i­cal re­turn to the DNA and roots of the brand. He cre­ates a co­h­e­sive col­lec­tion based on a studied sim­plic­i­ty that dis­si­m­u­lates a mas­ter­ful, ri­g­or­ous and provoca­tive ex­e­cu­tion. Af­ter years of col­lab­o­ra­tions with the most presti­gious brands, Ora Ito has signed an as­ton­ish­ing fur­ni­ture col­lec­tion. His time­less and uni­ver­sal vo­cab­u­lary tran­s­cends those val­ues held dear by Stein­er: fluid lines, sober and in­no­va­tive style, and ab­so­lute com­fort.
